Joseph Geiger, CAE
Executive Director
Education: Mr. Geiger earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree
in Secondary Education from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. He
graduated from Columbia University's Business School for Not-for-Profit
Management. Joe was certified by the American Society of Association
Executives as a Certified Association Executive.
Experience: Joe brings more than thirty-two years experience in the
fields of education, human resources and nonprofit and association
management. Geiger was born and raised in Lancaster County.
Before coming to serve as the Executive Director of PANO in January of
1995 he was a consultant for Organizational Effectiveness Group in
Princeton, NJ and Campaign Associates in King of Prussia, PA. He also served
as the Executive Director of the Keystone State Head Injury Foundation,
various executive positions with the YMCA and a consultant/researcher for
the YMCA of the USA, Valley Forge, PA. Mr. Geiger chaired the Ethics
Committee for the National Head Injury Foundation State Associations. Joe
was a secondary education social studies teacher for eight years.
Geiger has delivered programs on the role of charities in the public
policy process, change, feasibility, shared vision, team building, strategic
planning and more, to organizations throughout the nonprofit community. He
facilitates the Charities Build Communities Coalition, comprised of the 175
charities that forged the passage of Act 55. He is currently serving as a
consultant in the area of public policy for the Alliance of YMCAs throughout
Pennsylvania.
Joe traveled to Japan in October 2002 as a consultant to the government,
business and nonprofit communities to express the value of the nonprofit
sector and why government and business should be good partners. The
occurrence was provided by the Japanese Exchange Foundation, Center for
Global Partnerships. The experience included presentations in 5 cities, site
visits to over 30 nonprofit organizations, facilitated discussions in 5
gatherings and a keynote speech at the prefecture-wide symposium. Geiger
closed the symposium with a 60 minute discussion with the Governor of the
Prefecture in front of an audience of over 150 people interested in
nonprofit sector work. The trip was reciprocated in January 2006 when 12
nonprofit executive directors traveled to Pennsylvania.
Joe is currently teaching a graduate classes for Duquesne University
-School of Leadership and Professional Advancement.

Alumni Board, Board of Directors for the National Head Injury Foundation,
Big 33 Scholarship Foundation (President), Service Academy Selection
Committee for Congressmen George Gekas and Tim Holden, C3 Publications, The
American Trauma Society - PA Division, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
- OVR Project, Penn State University - Rehabilitation Department, the
Harrisburg Area YMCA and the Oakmont V Homeowner’s Association Board
(President). Geiger is a Past President for the Lower Paxton Township Lion's
Club and the DELTA Communities Board.

Grace Gilbert
Administrative Assistant/Special Projects
Experience: Grace brings many diverse proficiencies from her previous
work experience with Pennsylvanians for Effective Government, and several
other organizations. Her nonprofit and for profit work included experience
in accounting, clerical, customer service, sales and marketing and
development. Most critical is her strong organizational skills, computer
literacy and attitude as team player.
Community Service: Grace has served as Treasurer to the Duncannon Youth
Baseball Association since 2001 and has been a member of the Board of
Directors since 2000. In addition, she has diligently served as a volunteer
for the organization. Grace served as a former Board Member of the
Susquehanna Valley Collie & Sheltie Rescue and was a past volunteer for
another animal rescue organization. Grace served as a Board Member to the
Byron Nursery School from 1993-1995 in Byron, New York.
Education: Grace earned her AS Degree in Liberal Studies & Science from
Genesee Community College in Batavia, New York. She enhanced her degree with
additional classwork in Accounting at H.A.C.C., Harrisburg, PA. Grace was
featured in the 20th Annual Edition, Volume I of the National Dean’s List
(1997), and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society,
Alpha Iota Upsilon Chapter.

Tony
Karantonis, MS
Standards for Excellence Associate
Experience:
Prior to his work with PANO, Tony served eight years in the military; his
prior work experience includes: reviewing certification and ensuring proper
documentation of controlled items for quality assurance, performing
inspections in accordance with standard operating procedures and updating
effective tech-order changes as needed. In addition, Tony served as the Unit
Career Advisor and briefed personnel on educational benefits and other
career opportunities.
Education: Tony graduated with Honors from American Military University in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and an undergraduate certificate in Latin American Studies. In addition, Tony earned an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College in 2004. Tony
earned his Master of Science in Nonprofit Management with Eastern University
in 2008.
Community Service: Tony is currently a Board member of the Central
PA Chapter of the United Nations Association of the United States of
America. He also serves on the Media Committee for Estamos Unidos de
Pennsylvania.

Tish Mogan
Standards for Excellence Officer
Education: Tish earned an MBA with
concentration in Non-profit Management from Eastern University. This
follows a MA in Theology from St. Bonaventure University and a BA in
Mathematics with a minor in education from Gwynedd Mercy College.
Experience: Tish brings over 34 years of
experience in the fields of education, non-profit administration and
business. Her educational experience spans from secondary through graduate
level. Currently an adjunct faculty at Eastern University’s MS in Nonprofit
Management program teaching the “Ethics and Nonprofit Issues Course in St.
Davids, PA and Washington, D.C. Tish enjoys keeping current with the needs
of Nonprofit organizations. As the initial Executive Director at The MBF
Center, a nonprofit organization located in Norristown, PA, Tish directed
the program’s growth in becoming an accredited post-secondary school and
employment service for adults with disabilities. Tish brings professional
administration experience in creating and leading integrated strategies to
align organizational objectives with key constituencies (investors,
students, staff, and communities). Areas of expertise include program
development, fundraising, fiscal and legal accountability, policy
development, board management and marketing.
Community Service: Tish serves on the board of Rural
Opportunities, Inc and is an Advisory board member for Mercy Spiritual
Ministries. Former areas of service include Board member and Chair of the
Vocational Division for the Pennsylvania Association of Rehabilitation
Facilities, Board member of Freedom Valley Disability Center, Advisor and
Committee member of The Craig D. Buckler Learn to Ski Program, a fund of The
Philadelphia Foundation, Quail Crossing Homeowners Association and the
Capital Campaign Committee for Daylesford Abbey as well as numerous
volunteer consulting projects in the areas of education, disability services
and nonprofit administration.

Jennifer Ross, CAE
Chief Information Officer
Education: Ms. Ross earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in French and Sociology
with a Minor in Fine Arts History from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. Part of her
studies included an academic year at the Dickinson Center at Toulouse, France (Academic
Year 1991-1992) where she also had an internship teaching English to students at a French
High School.
Experience: Ms. Ross was PANO's Member Services Director and
Administrative Assistant from January 1997-December 1999. She
brought administrative and office managerial experience from two years at
the business and political consulting firm Singel Associates and her year
and a half on the Friends of Mark Singel Gubernatorial Fundraising Team.
Her experience working with databases and dealing with a multitude
of requests from clients, associates and funders at her past employment
enables her to effectively aid PANO members.
Ms. Ross has extensive knowledge of databases,
spreadsheets, desktop publishing and web design. She employs these skills to design and coordinate PANO's
quarterly newsletter Keynotes,
upgrade PANO's web site, to prepare PANO's grant proposals and reports,
and help maintain PANO’s database.
She participates in the
NCNA Membership Committee and Communications Affinity Group.
Community Service: Ms. Ross is a Board Member of Jewish Family Services in Harrisburg, a
member of the Hollywood on High (film) Committee at the Carlisle Theatre,
and facilitates the Nonprofit Women's Professionals Club of the Capital
Region. She volunteers as requested at Dickinson College and is a
former member of its Alumni Council.

David Ross,
J.D.
Policy Officer
David Ross is the Public Policy Officer for Pennsylvania Association of
Nonprofit Organizations. Mr. Ross joined PANO in June of 2004, and began
researching government data, statistics, surveys, and news articles for a
research project funded by NCNA. He was hired part-time in 2005 as PANO’s
Policy Analyst. He was promoted in January 2006 as their full-time as
Policy Officer to help develop PANO’s government affairs and advocacy
agenda.
As PANO’s Policy Officer, Mr. Ross provides advocacy support and tracks
legislation and regulatory issues on the state and federal levels. Mr. Ross
also conducts research and analysis on issues that affect the nonprofit
sector. He corresponds and negotiates with legislative and regulatory
officials on behalf of PANO, its members and affiliated organizations.
Additionally, Mr. Ross is the primary writer of PANO’s policy summaries
that appear on PANO’s Public Policy webpage
www.pano.org/publicpolicy/publicpolicy.php, in PANO’s Enews and Public
Policy Updates, and in PANO’s quarterly newsletter “Keynotes.”
Education: Mr. Ross earned a Juris Doctorate from Widener
University School of Law in 1998. As part of Mr. Ross’s studies with
Widener, he attended a semester abroad program at the University of Nairobi
in Kenya, Faculty of Law in Africa studying comparative constitutional law.
Mr. Ross graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1990 with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in political science and related concentrations in economics,
communications and English writing.
Experience: Prior to his work with PANO, Mr. Ross worked in the
legal field supporting large tort litigations for such clients as Dupont,
Sunoco, and the Celotex Trust. In addition to his work with PANO, Mr. Ross
works as a consultant for Ross Associates, a real estate investment and
management company in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
