Access to Education

PANO offers seminars on a variety of topics in various parts of the state. Members receive discounts on these programs. Check out our listing of upcoming PANO Events.


All Idealware training is discounted 15% for members.


Our newsletter, "Keynotes" is published quarterly for our members. "Keynotes" provides updates on current legislation and issues, posts current member benefits, and keeps members educated about what PANO is doing statewide. It also included informational articles on each of its themes: Fundraising, Board & Governance, Risk Management, and Public Policy.


Our electronic newsletter, "PANO enews" is published bi-weekly and provides Standards Education pieces, event updates, special opportunities, member update, public policy alerts, and more. If you are a member and are not currently receiving enews, email your name, email address, title and organization name to Jennifer Ross at jenn@pano.org.

Advocacy and Outreach

PANO monitors changes in Federal and State legislation and regulations that broadly impact the nonprofit sector, and mobilizes members through Action Alerts and informational updates.

PANO is involved with a number of organizations which affect the nonprofit sector. PANO is a member of the National Council of Nonprofits, Independent Sector and of ASAE.


Executive Director Joe Geiger conducts monthly interviews with leaders in the nonprofit sector and public officials for the Lincoln Radio Journal. PANO participates in an annual charitable survey with the Lincoln Institute on Public Policy.

Technical Assistance and Nonprofit Help Desk

PANO provides free technical assistance to its members when possible. For long-term assistance, we provide a free referral service to consultants in fields such as accounting, fundraising, legal services, tax services, etc.

Members access most of our Standard for Excellence Educational Resources for free.

NTEN is the membership organization of nonprofit professionals who put technology to use for their causes. Members of PANO can activate free NTEN memberships for the 2012 calendar year. Benefits include free trainings and resources, discounts on online and off-line programming, and access to a network of peers sharing resources and advice on nonprofit technology topics.

We sell the 2012 edition of the "Pennsylvania Nonprofit Handbook: Everything You Need to Know to Start and Run Your Nonprofit Organization."
